PARIS, FRANCE
Do you have a favorite part of Paris? What kinds of things did you get to do there?
Paris was fascinating. It was a great change of scenery and although I really like it, I did not get much time to explore. Paris is a very big city and it is very unique. When I was there, I trained a lot and found a really good gym. Luckily, it was also close to the hotel where we were staying. The people at the gym were very nice and helpful with anything I needed and they made my experience much easier.
Did you get a chance to do some shopping in Paris?
Yes, I shopped in Paris on my very last day there. It was tiring because there is so much walking, but I can’t complain since I got some really good stuff.
Do you have certain facilities that you go to when you are working out and training in the European cities? How do you keep up with your summer workouts?
That depends on which city I am staying in. This time I traveled a lot so I worked out in gyms that were most convenient and closest to my hotels. It helps if the people at the gym are accommodating and nice since they make it easier to just get to working out instead of spending too much time looking for gyms. I have a trainer who travels with me and programs my workouts and that’s how I keep up with my summer workouts.
What was the Tennis world like at Roland Garros? How does it compare to the NBA world?
It was very interesting and different from what I’m used to. Roland Garros is special because it is the only Grand Slam played on a clay court. The Stade Roland Garros is also said to be the leading and original clay court so it was great to be able to see it. It is a very different experience from the NBA world because the two are so different. For instance, while watching tennis, the audience is expected to be silent, while during NBA games there are no rules for the noise and people can be as loud as they want.
You have a great sense of style and it seems like you would appreciate all of the great art and architecture Paris has to offer, did you have time to enjoy any museums and the beauty of the city?
Thank you. Ahh, unfortunately I did not have much time for fun so I did not get to explore Paris. My schedule didn’t allow for much. However, just walking around Paris, I appreciated the beauty of it and was fascinated by the architecture. It was a dramatic change of scenery from Rome and I enjoyed getting to stay in two such diverse cities back to back. Also, it is well known that Paris is one of the top European cities to explore, so I plan to return when my schedule permits.
