When watching a New Jersey Nets game, besides the resolute perseverance of the players, it is difficult not to notice the unwavering pride and dedication of the diehard New Jersey Nets fans. Frank Razzano, a 24 year old native of New Jersey is a representative of this type of steadfast fan and we asked him to give his perspective on how he felt Sasha has fit in with the Nets and also for some advice for Sasha about the garden state and the surrounding area.
1. While watching the Nets’ 2010-2011 season, how did you feel Sasha’s presence has affected the Nets?
It was drastic, not only did he improve our three point shooting, but Sasha plays On-Ball Defense like a tick, he will stick you till you pass that ball away.
2. You have friends who are dedicated Nets fans, would you give some examples of how other Nets fans feel Sasha has contributed to the Nets?
Sasha’s contributions to the team provided depth to the rotation, in the future he should definitely be the Nets’ sixth man. His perimeter shot and defensive abilities are vital.
3. As a die hard Nets fan, is there a way you yourself would sum up a hard core New Jersey Nets fan and how do you feel some of Sasha’s attributes fit in with that?
Sasha gained a lot of popularity by being on the Lakers championship team. Coming into New Jersey, a lot of fans knew what to expect from him. His role on the team as a three point specialist evolved into a player with starter potential. Although his main assets are his perimeter shooting, defensive awareness – his weakness is just consistency, it seems after a strong first half during games, the Nets begin to fade and its not just Sasha’s fault, it’s a chemistry issue. You can’t point fingers on the Nets, because they work as a team, so Sasha isn’t the only one getting the blame for his inconsistent play. In the 6th man role, in my opinion, he would be able to execute his strengths.
4. Since you grew up in New Jersey and Sasha is a relative newcomer, do you have any kind of recommendations for him as far as areas to hang out, favorite places to eat, places to go, etc.?
Strictly down south, Seaside Heights – THE JERSEY SHORE. Amusement Park, Boardwalk, beaches, fried oreos, great pizza. Six Flags Great Adventure theme park.
5. Sasha also likes NYC very much, do you have any recommendations for him in the city?
Anywhere and everywhere, NYC is an island of fun. If I had to choose one place, it would be Dave & Busters – it’s an adult arcade.
6. It seems like besides basketball, you enjoy a variety of sports. Do have any advice for Sasha about the various sports organizations in the area?
With his Slovenian (Russian) roots, I would say Hockey – particularly the New Jersey Devils.
7. Since it’s summer time now in the offseason, would you have any recommendations for Sasha in the area during this season?
Even in the winter, the Jersey Shore is beautiful. It is the same, minus the warm weather – and it can be equally as good as New York City.
8. If you could say something to Sasha, what would you like to say?
You know, my ex-Girlfriend is a big Sasha Vujacic fan and although we are no longer together, I would like to say “Christie Misko is your biggest fan!”
