Unselfish to a Fault!!!

Unselfish to a Fault!!!This needs some explaining. I heard it many years from my high school coach at Abraham Lincoln in Brooklyn where he had won 71 and lost 3 in his four years and a NYC Championship in 1949. Lincoln has turned out a number of players to the NBA lately like Marbury, Telfair and Stephenson.
This statement is both a COMPLIMENT and INSTRUCTIVE. When said about an athlete who is a competitor, who PLAYS TO WIN – to win at all costs. Sasha is this kind of basketball player.

Sasha played a great deal of time as the point guard last week and naturally he did a good job. His job was to set up players for shots at that position. He is very adaptable to three positions and that is why his coach said, “He comes to play. ” He did his work well and constantly delivered the ball to his teammates where they could get shots at the hoop. Sadly, they had poor shooting night and his assist total wasn’t really high. Nevertheless, he filled in admirably for Devin Harris at the point.

However, Sasha GIVES HIMSELF UP and has to make some changes to take advantage of his shooting ability. FIRST, whoever has the ball has the weapon to score points to win the game. For instance, when Devin Haris comes down with the the ball, the FIRST OPTION IS TO LOOK FOR A SHOT IF IT IS THERE. Whoever has the ball, it is his to try to score a basket. SECONDLY, you try to make a pass to a teammate who is open for a shot, who can then do what you did until your team scores the basket. And THIRD, you dribble if you have trouble trying to create or pass to your teammate to get a shot.
In conclusion, SASHA should be a little more self-centered so he can contribute more to winning ball games and enhance his chances for more playing time.

Unselfish sounds right. I hope as Sasha gets more and more used to his new team and teammates, he will feel more comfortable about asserting his talents to make the Nets stronger. He is already doing so amazingly great!

By the way Sasha, some friend and I, Denise School and Denise Yogi went to the Lakers vs. Nets game in LA to cheer you on! It was so great to see you in LA again! We Miss You!
