The Interactive Media Council, which consists of judges from Microsoft, American Express, Producers Guild of America, Deutche Bank, The History Channel, CBS Radio, CNNMoney.com, Hoover’s, McCann Erickson Worldwide, New Line Cinema, New York Times, OgilvyOne Worldwide, and others, has awarded Los Angeles Lakers player Sasha Vujacic’s Web site (www.sashavujacic18.com) the 2009 Interactive Media Award (IMA) for Outstanding Achievement in the Sports category.
Last year’s winners of the Outstanding Achievement award in the Sports category were the 2008 U.S. Open Official Web site and the NCAA Men’s Final Four 2008 Web site.
Previous Outstanding Achievement award-winning Web sites have been developed by the top marketing agencies in the world, including Accenture, OgilvyOne Worldwide and Avenue A | Razor Fish. Winners have included the following Web sites in their respective categories: Lufthansa, Budweiser, A&E Television, Accenture Global Careers, All State, Biography.com, BMW, CBS News, Cisco, CNNMoney.com, Dallas Cowboys, Disney.com, DKNY, General Electric, History.com, Lenovo, National Geographic, Nissan, PC Magazine, Pizza Hut, Red Bull, Sony Electronics and others.
In its pursuit of recognizing the highest standards of excellence in Web site design and development and honoring individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievement, the Interactive Media Award for Outstanding Achievement is extremely challenging to win.
Although thousands of Web sites are submitted for consideration each year, Sasha Vujacic’s Web site is the first NBA player site to receive an Interactive Media Award from the Interactive Media Council for Outstanding Achievement in Sports Category.
According to judges from the Interactive Media Council, Sasha Vujacic’s Web site “has excelled in all areas of our judging criteria and represents a very high standard of planning, execution and overall professionalism.”
